Last night we received a phone call from Jessica; "Mom, guess where I'm standing right now?" Mom replied, "I have no idea, Jess." Jess says, "In front of the White House. It's beautiful at night!"
Since the students had made their visit to Virginia during their free time with Dr. and Mrs. Habecker, they suggested the students go out and have some down time. So, they decided to take in some sightseeing. Previously, in the afternoon, their visit to Virginia took them for a visit with Dr. Coe, who has been a consult for all the Presidents. The students were able to get a one on one with him for over an hour. Since they had that opportunity, Dr. Habecker told them they would not have to attend Dr. Coe's evening session.
Today the students were heading to a resort in Pennsylvania for the rest of the week. There they are participating in a leadership conference. These next couple days, they will have more of an opportunity to get to know other students from other colleges and universities.
Saturday, the plan is for the Taylor students to return to Washington, D.C. where the Taylor Alumni and Friends will have a gathering. The students will be a part of the gathering by participating in a panel discussion about what life is like as a student in 2008 at Taylor University.
Sunday, they will fly back and return to Taylor Sunday night. I'm sure their minds will be on overload from all the information they have been exposed to this week.
