Thank you all for your prayers for Jess today.
Jess had her phone interview this afternoon. It went really well. She will continue on to the second interview; we think possibly, next week. We'll keep everyone posted on here, so we can all continue to pray.
Thanks again for your friendship, love, and prayers.

A Prayer Request....
Jessica received a phone call today for a phone interview with people from Accenture. This phone interview would precede another phone interview and then they would interview her in person after that. This opportunity would be Jess' number one job choice following graduation from Taylor. She has applied at 9 different locations of Accenture. This particular one would include almost all traveling and she would be located in Washington, D.C. It is our prayer that if this is what the Lord would have for her, He would make it very clear to her. Please pray that she would have a clear mind, stay focused, and that she would be able to answer the questions in a professional manner. If you think of her, this first phone interview is on Friday, February 29, at 2:00 P.M. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers on her behalf!

A Beautiful Weekend...finally...
The last couple of days have been great. The sun has been shining and it's almost seemed "springlike" outside. Well, except for the snow. At least we had a nice break from shoveling snow.
Would you ever think the Internet could be used to bring others to accept Jesus in their life?
Last night a friend of ours came over and shared her heart for a new "missions" opportunity she will be raising support to be able to work full time for. It was really neat to hear how the internet is being used to bring unsaved people to the Lord. Many years ago, our friend had gone through a hard time in her life. Her spirit was crushed and thought she would never be able to be used by the Lord for His service. One night, she entered a Christian chat room. While in that room, she realized there were people there that she could connect with. Through that ministry, she has been encouraged and even met some dear sisters in the Lord who have become very close friends with her. She has been so encouraged through this ministry, she had become a volunteer a couple of years ago. Now, she has been called into full time service to help reach out to others searching for peace in their lives.

Another SNOW DAY!!!
Last night, we received approximately 5 more inches of snow. Yes, that means Keith did some more shoveling. First thing this morning, he received a phone call at 5:20 that school had been cancelled. As the day progressed, it just kept snowing more and more. Every morning I talk to Mom Q. in Ludington. She said they had about 10 inches of snow. It's supposed to continue snowing through tomorrow afternoon. We just have to remember, spring is around the corner. :)

Our Small Group...
The last few months we have really enjoyed the times we have spent with our small group. It's a time in which we have gotten to know some new friends better and some old friends even better. We always have a sweet time fellowshipping together. Thank you, Lord, for our new friends!
Another tribute....
Today I must make my tribute to my Aunt Merna. Today is her 85th birthday. She has lived quite a few years alone since my Uncle Russell went to be with His Lord and Savior after suffering with Alzheimers. (Here she is holding her newest great-grand daughter.) I will always remember our trips to visit her and Uncle Russell in Benton Harbor, where they raised their three children. Aunt Merna is a wonderful cook and loves to bake. She always goes the "extra mile" to make your meals are special. She and my Uncle were very involved in their local church. They served the Lord working with little children in their church for many years. She was also active in the Ladies Missionary group as well. In their later years, they moved back to Ludington, where her siblings are located. Aunt Merna loves the Lord with all her heart, soul and mind. She also is a great prayer warrior for her family and friends. Anyway, Happy Birthday, Aunt Merna. May God continue to bless in your life! We love you, dearly!Wednesday, February 13, 2008
Happy Birthday, Uncle Bill...
Today is Uncle Bill's 69th Birthday. He is a very special Uncle who loves his Lord and Savior. He is also a great husband, dad, brother, uncle, and grandpa. He loves his family and especially loves spending time loving on his grandchildren. His life reflects that of his beliefs in the Lord and has been a great example to his children and grandchildren. May God continue to bless you!
A Tribute...

Today I would like to pay tribute to Mom W. Yesterday she celebrated her 88th Birthday. We have been so very blessed by her life. She is our number 1 prayer warrior and loves the Lord with all her heart, soul and mind. What a loving and understanding Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma she is to us! She is an avid computer user and knows how to IM, send emails, and print off maps from mapquest sites. She stays active reading, crocheting, baking, particpating in her senior group from her church, and of course, loving on her great-grandbabies! We love you, Mom, and are so grateful to the Lord for blessing us with your life.

Sunday, it felt like -16 degrees here. The actual temperature was 3 degrees.
*Just a "shout out" to Judi, my friend who loooooves snow! You are welcome to come and visit anytime to get your fill of it! Lori, you are welcome to come and help shovel, too, anytime, since you miss shoveling. :)
A Blustery Sunday...

More from Washington, D.C...
Last night we received a phone call from Jessica; "Mom, guess where I'm standing right now?" Mom replied, "I have no idea, Jess." Jess says, "In front of the White House. It's beautiful at night!"
Since the students had made their visit to Virginia during their free time with Dr. and Mrs. Habecker, they suggested the students go out and have some down time. So, they decided to take in some sightseeing. Previously, in the afternoon, their visit to Virginia took them for a visit with Dr. Coe, who has been a consult for all the Presidents. The students were able to get a one on one with him for over an hour. Since they had that opportunity, Dr. Habecker told them they would not have to attend Dr. Coe's evening session.
Today the students were heading to a resort in Pennsylvania for the rest of the week. There they are participating in a leadership conference. These next couple days, they will have more of an opportunity to get to know other students from other colleges and universities.
Saturday, the plan is for the Taylor students to return to Washington, D.C. where the Taylor Alumni and Friends will have a gathering. The students will be a part of the gathering by participating in a panel discussion about what life is like as a student in 2008 at Taylor University.
Sunday, they will fly back and return to Taylor Sunday night. I'm sure their minds will be on overload from all the information they have been exposed to this week.

The beginning...
I figure it's about time I get with the times and create a blog. By definition, a blog is: "an online diary; a personal chronological log of thoughts published on a Web page;" I will try to do just that.
To begin with...this morning, Jessica and three other Taylor University students attended the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C. There were dignitaries attending from over 190 countries. The students arrived yesterday. Last night, they attended a Congressional dinner and heard various speakers. Charles Colson was there and offered them a copy of his new book. They gladly received his gift, and he personally autographed it for them. This morning, they attended the National Prayer Breakfast, where there are various congressional speakers and Christian artists, such as Joni Erickson Tada and Michael W. Smith. This afternoon, Taylor President, Dr. Eugene Habecker had invited the students to go with him to Virginia. I'll be updating this as we hear more about her adventures.
